Our Dance Intensive - 4 weeks will offer you core, foundational training in several styles of dance, to provide a broad and varied base for you to move into the style or styles you enjoy the most.
Each day will begin with a body work class to prepare you for the day ahead by engaging your mind and body, and will be followed by a combination of the following styles...
Ballet: Historically dating back to the fifteenth century, this technique follows precise and formalised steps with graceful upper body movements
Contemporary: An expressive and dynamic dance form born from Classical Ballet, Jazz and Modern
Jazz: Originating as a social dance style at the turn of the 20th century.
Commercial: Encompassing a variety of styles such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Diva, used mainly in the commercial entertainment industry
Creative Movement and Improvisation: The freedom to explore shape and space, with tools to guide you, but no set curriculum
Choreography and Repertoire: Combinations of steps within each of the dance disciplines
Seminar series: Talks on dance history, injury, nutrition and the life of a dancer
Each week you will continue to learn and understand more about the variety of dance techniques. And, by the end of the Intensive, you will have gained both confidence and ability which will be shared in an informal showcase.
ON OUR DANCE INTENSIVE COURSES YOU WILL
- Learn ease and grace of movement
- Learn dynamics and travelling through space
- Experiment with relating to other dancers in the space (contact improvisation)
- Increase flexibility through dance exercises and good stretching practices
- Explore different styles of commercial dance from Jazz, Street, Hip-Hop and Diva
- Learn samples of choreography from a variety of dance styles (Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary etc)
- Put the day's work into practice through tasks, experimenting and creating

All lessons are tailored to suit all levels. Beginners welcome.
How long is this course?
This is a 4 week course full-time course, weekdays from 10.00 - 17.00.
What will you need
Water bottle, notebook, pen, snacks and a towel.
What to wear
Comfortable clothing to dance/move in.
OUR APPROACH
Our intensive foundation runs for 4 weeks. Each day consists of a full day of classes, which provides you with well-rounded and concentrated dance training. Our dance school has carefully formulated these classes to build a variety of skills.
Find your individual flair and confidence as a performer. Build your skill set and leave the course will the toolkit to take you through your future learning and industry endeavours.
