Ballet Classes - Beginners
Our Ballet Beginners Course provides a fun introduction to Ballet, designed for adults of all fitness levels. Our experienced ballet professionals will guide you through fundamental techniques in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
If you are new to Ballet then this course is the perfect way to start your journey. These ballet lessons are also suitable for those of you seeking to refresh your skills.

COURSE CONTENT
Exact course content may differ depending on the duration of the course, your individual needs and those of the group. However, topics covered will generally include:
- Establish basic ballet vocabulary and the purpose of each exercise
- Develop strength, flexibility and better posture
- Improve coordination
- Broaden awareness of the body in space
- Put techniques into practice by mastering simple choreographic phrases
You will be given friendly feedback and support from your tutor throughout the course.

In order to progress to Improvers it is recommended that dancers continue this course for approximately one year - the teacher can also advise you when it is time to move up.

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
BALLET SUMMER SCHOOLS
Our adult Ballet Summer Schools focus on classical ballet techniques, you will also learn ballet history, terminology and excerpts from famous ballets and experience being ‘en Pointe’.

After this course we recommend progressing onto Ballet - Improvers 1, and then onto our more advanced Ballet courses - Ballet Improvers 2 and our Ballet Dance Company.
