Led by Naz Choudhury, one of Europe’s most recognised and accomplished Bollywood dance artists, this performance-based Bollywood Dance Performance Course is designed for improvers looking to elevate their skills and command the stage. Blending traditional and contemporary Bollywood styles, the course focuses on advanced choreography, expressive storytelling through movement, and building the confidence to captivate a live audience.
Throughout the bollywood class, you’ll train with purpose, working toward a final live performance in the last week – a chance to showcase your progress, presence, and unique style in front of an invited audience.
What You Will Learn
- Advanced footwork and seamless transitions for greater speed, control, and precision
- Body isolations through the hips, arms, shoulders, and chest to enhance expression
- A broad stylistic range including Bollywood fusion, classical (Kathak, Bharatanatyam), folk (Bhangra, Garba), and modern influences
- Stage performance techniques such as energy projection, presence, and confidence
- The art of storytelling in dance using abhinaya – facial expression, hand gestures, and emotional intent
- Rhythmic and musical awareness, including beat recognition, syncopation, and accents
- Techniques to improve choreography pick-up and memory retention

Yes, this is an improvers-level course. We recommend that participants have completed at least one beginners or improvers Bollywood dance course, or have some prior experience in Bollywood or similar commercial dance styles.
Yes – this is a performance-focused course. In the final session, you will perform a fully choreographed routine in front of a live audience, giving you real on-stage experience and a chance to showcase what you’ve learned.

Yes – abhinaya (the expressive aspect of Indian dance) is a key part of the course. You’ll use facial expressions and gestures to enhance storytelling, emotion and character throughout the choreography.
Absolutely. This course is designed to help dancers grow in both technical ability and performance confidence. You’ll receive guidance on stage presence, expression, and how to engage an audience both emotionally and physically.
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Barefoot, dance sneakers, or soft dance shoes are all suitable. For the performance, guidance will be given in advance about costume or colour themes.
Yes – the final session will be open to a small invited audience. Friends and family are welcome to attend and support the performers.
