"Our team away day delivered excellent value for money. It was well structured, relevant for all levels in the team and also a fun and enjoyable team building experience. I’d certainly recommend City Academy to other businesses looking for something different."

Why Writing?

The jewel in the comedy crown, a classic sitcom is usually the brilliant creation of a team of crack writers. Now you can find out exactly how it’s done.

Under the guidance of our professional screenwriter, your team will develop memorable sitcom characters and learn essential writing techniques including how to plot and structure a successful story. Your team will explore some of the finest sitcoms to hit our screens before delving into their own. And to round off the whole experience your team will perform your freshly minted script in a live read through.

Less a writing course and more a comedy event, our Write a Sitcom workshop will take you on a whistlestop tour of satire, surrealism, sauciness and the dreaded art of puns.

As with all our team building ideas, the course can be entirely customised to your team. So if you have a favourite sitcom in mind, let us know when you book, so we can tailor this workshop to your team.
