Improvisation Workshop

Act, react and embrace the unknown

Improvisation is intelligence cutting loose.

Perhaps the most instantly gratifying of all acting styles, and the most spectacular to master, improvisation is big business – and ironically, brilliant for business. Fast paced, imaginative and awash with transferable skills, this breakneck Improvisation Workshop is also a massively enjoyable way to hone flexibility and creative reflexes.

In this acting-based team building experience, your team will work together, throwing the script out the window to create original theatrical scenarios without any planning. After getting to know your group, your professional acting coach will build the core skills that allow creative ideas to flourish – and then let the ideas fly!

In our Improvisation Workshop you will

  • Release team stress and connect on a personal level
  • Put creative-thinking skills to the test
  • Deepen personal connections through laughter and play
  • Boost decision-making in a fast-paced, creative setting
  • Develop listening skills and build on ideas
  • Increase resilience for the unknown
  • Enhance trust and communication skills

“I lead a multinational and multilingual finance team based in Denmark, Germany and the UK. We were looking for a fun and engaging activity, something for us to bond and get to know one another on a more personal level. We approached City Academy for some creative ideas and went with the theme of Improvisation. We had a very well planned and executed workshop – it was a fantastic experience for us and one that we are still talking about.”

Why Improvisation?

Undoubtedly one of our most enjoyable team experiences, City Academy’s Improvisation Workshop is also one of the most useful. Under the eye of a professional acting coach, each session introduces and develops a plethora of new skills. Improvisation requires being 100% present in the moment. You’ll learn heightened listening skills, efficiency, trust, innovative thinking, fast-paced decision-making and a positive attitude – all skills with direct relevance for the workplace.

Through a series of acting games and exercises involving word-play, body language and group storytelling, your team will be put through their creative paces and enjoy bonding on an entirely new level.
