Team Building and Communication Skills Tutor

Mark is a graduate of the BFA Theatre Programme, University of Windsor and the Adult Learning Teaching and Training Programme, George Brown College.

Mark is an actor, acting teacher, and corporate trainer in London, UK. He holds an honours degree in Theatre and has a certification in Adult Learning Teaching and Training. Mark combines professional theatre with experiential learning through the facilitation of training programmes that are aimed at strengthening communication and delivery skills.

Mark is a professional role-player as well as being an established professional theatre performer. Over the last 20 years, Mark has provided learning platforms in both private and group sessions which offer participants the opportunity to implement and practice their skills through realistic role-play experiences followed by standardised models of feedback. He has facilitated programmes that focus on how we connect as people by encouraging participants to unlock intuitive communication skills and to truly experience the value of connecting with others.

Mark’s experience as a professional actor has enabled him to guide learners in best practices when engaging in challenging business conversations by coaching towards skills that help learners stay present in discussions and build trust.

Mark trained as a member of the Acting Company and Young Company at the Stratford Festival of Canada for two seasons where he studied with some of Canada’s top voice and text coaches. He has toured nationally with The Reduced Shakespeare Company and has played in theatres such as Southwark Playhouse, Greenwich Theatre, and Theatre Royal Stratford East. Worldwide, Mark has performed with TNT Theatre, a movement and music integrated theatre company that performs in dozens of countries spanning four continents.

Mark has also devised numerous plays which are dedicated to social change, some of which have been published as new work or referenced in published research articles. For City Academy, Mark teaches Acting and Voice and has directed the Actors Theatre Company in their productions of Equus and Hamlet.

He trained as a member of the Acting Company and Young Company at the Stratford Festival of Canada for two seasons where he studied with some of the industry’s top acting, text, voice, and movement coaches.

As an acting tutor, Mark integrates these core disciplines with a wealth of experience as a stage actor. In Canada he has performed at the world-famous Stratford Festival; in the UK he has toured nationally with The Reduced Shakespeare Company and has played in theatres such as Southwark Playhouse, Greenwich Theatre, and Theatre Royal Stratford East. Worldwide, Mark has performed with TNT Theatre, a movement and music integrated theatre company that performs in dozens of countries spanning four continents.

Mark is qualified to teach English as a foreign language and has a working knowledge of French, German and Portuguese.

This was a very informative class, with lots of resources and topics covered in a day. It was a small group so lots of opportunities to partake and speak up. Our tutor Mark was eloquent and knowledgable. I feel like I took a lot of helpful tips from today.
