Charleston Dance Classes

This is your chance to kick, swing, and tap your way back to 1920s USA.

Suitable for complete beginners - as well as the more seasoned Swing or Jive Dancer - our lively and energetic Charleston Dance Classes will introduce you to the hot jazz sounds of the Charleston, and have you moving with speed, vitality, and expression! We offer both 4 week short courses and one-off workshops for you to fit around your schedule.

During the Charleston lessons, you will practise the dance solo, learning fun and energetic 1920s dance moves. Whether you sign-up as an individual, or with a group of friends, this workshop a great opportunity to meet new people whilst learning something new.

Charleston Dance Classes Content

  • Learn authentic Charleston moves such as the bees knees and the scarecrow
  • Explore styling, improvisation and musicality
  • Put techniques into practice with fun choreography
  • Build confidence in your movement and dance with expression

Like all of our dance classes, you will re ceive friendly advice and feedback throughout the classes.

No Venue

All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
