Kick start your writing with our Creative Writing School - 5 day Intensive course, part of our Summer Schools and Intensives programme. On this 5 day course you will develop your ideas in a supportive environment with guidance from an expert tutor. Try your hand at multiple writing formats, from prose to screenplay, and develop your writing style.
No previous experience is required and this course is aimed at beginners.
CREATIVE WRITING SCHOOL
During our creative writing course you will:
- Develop an understanding of storytelling principles and structure
- Learn how to develop characters
- Learn to use descriptive prose and critical thinking
- Explore multiple writing formats
- Outline your ideas and develop them with the help of an expert tutor

This is a 5 day intensive writing course focusing on story, structure, character development, critical thinking in writing and personal development

Suitable for beginners and those with some prior writing experience
CREATIVE WRITING SCHOOL SCHEDULE
DAY ONE
The first day of our Creative Writing School will start by looking at story and structure. There will also be time set aside for individual writing.
DAY TWO
On day two you will start looking at the use of description and metaphors in your work. You will also continue with your individual writing.
DAY THREE
At this point you will start looking at perspective and tense, and you will also have a one-to-one session with your tutor.
DAY FOUR
Much of day four will focus on the importance of critical thinking in writing, and you will also continue working on your individual piece.
DAY FIVE
On the final day of the course you will be sharing some of the work you have done and learn more about the writing industry.

No Venue
All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
