Learn the fundamentals of pre-production on this five day Film Production Intensive course. Breaking down the fundamentals of filmmaking, this course will teach you the practical skills and knowledge needed for producing your own film project.
If you’re an aspiring actor, writer or director and want to learn how to get your own project off the ground, this course offers a step-by-step guide covering everything from applying for funding to recruiting and hiring a crew to budget.
The filmmaking course is led by an award-winning filmmaker, writer, producer and director. As well as facilitating each session, the tutor will be on hand to share industry insights on successful pitching, attracting investors and how to play the role of producer.
Film Production Intensive Content
- How to find the story: You’ll learn the processes used by writers, directors and producers to find stories for film and documentary projects. Explore interesting avenues and craft the best journey for bringing new and existing ideas to the screen.
- Developing a script: Workshop script writing techniques and how to create dynamic storyboards. Understand the content of a script and getting to the roots of your story.
- Setting and sticking to a budget: You’ll create a hypothetical film budget with specific costs in mind for a small scale production.
- Working with a Director: You’ll develop a well rounded understanding of the relationship between a producer and director and the specific role each has to play in the production process from end to end.

Level
No technical filmmaking experience is required. Some knowledge of filmmaking basics may be helpful.
