Our Heels and Afrobeats Fusion Workshop combines the strong and sexy attitude of heels with the vibrant and upbeat vibes of Afrobeats.
Take your dance expression to the next level in a class that’s inclusive, challenging and rewarding. Work on your heels technique and improve musicality to a soundtrack of up tempo tracks from the likes of Mr Eazi, Maleek Berry, PartyNextDoor, Drogba and many more.
On this dance workshop, you will learn how to stay composed and strong when walking and dancing, improve balance and feel even more at home in your favourite heels. Feel the freedom of expressing yourself in a safe and welcoming environment with other dancers and have fun taking your dance practice to the next level.
Heels & Afrobeats Fusion Workshop content
The aim of this workshop is to increase your ability and comfort to dance in heels and add an exciting new dynamic to your technique
- Warm up specifically for heels dance to prevent injury
- Technical and upbeat heels walking sequences to promote comfort and confidence
- Freestyle with ease and intent across the floor.
- Learn sharp and fiery moves and softer smooth transitions
- Choreography to suit your pace and level
- Work in small groups to meet fellow dancers - encouraging and lifting up each other as you add your own unique flair to choreography

OUR APPROACH
The City Academy Street and Commercial dance department has courses and classes suitable for dancers of all backgrounds and abilities. Our tutors are not just teachers but professional dancers and performers with industry experience, ready to help and guide you through each class and your next steps as you gain confidence. Meet your tutor
Elisa has lots of experience performing and teaching various dance styles and a special passion and level of expertise in heels and Afrobeats. She has also performed with P!NK at the BRIT awards, as well as featuring in numerous music videos for international artists.
When teaching her Heels And Afrobeats Fusion Workshop, Elisa aims to create an energetic and challenging environment that is also enjoyable and positive, encouraging her students to push themselves while being free of judgement. She loves the opportunity she has to inspire her students to reach their full potential.

No Venue
All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
