Method Acting - Intermediate

Immerse yourself into the world of your character.

For students who have completed Method Acting Beginners and Method Acting Improvers, you will continue to work on Relaxation and Observation, and further explore mining a script for sometimes well-hidden details to build authentic and credible characters with richly imagined lives beyond those we see in the script. 

We will look more deeply at Units of Action in order to find nuanced character journeys through every scene and avoid the trap of generalisation. Affective Memory work will be looked at as a tool to connect our own experiences to those we find in the scenes as well as Animal Studies to find ways to develop your characters’ physicality with authenticity and precision. There will also be the opportunity to work on a character biography and to explore Relationship Exercises to add depth and humanity to the character interactions.  

You will work independently as well as in pairs or small groups and there will be regular opportunities to share your work and receive detailed feedback from the tutor, as well as homework in between classes so the learning experience will extend well beyond the time in the actual class.

Like all of our acting lessons, you'll receive friendly feedback throughout the course, and all scripts will be provided. Course capacity is kept small to ensure you receive individual feedback on this specialised course.
