Our Music Production Beginners course provides an excellent foundation for absolute beginners, as well as for those who want to gain a more in-depth knowledge of music production. Whether you are an aspiring producer, sound engineer, or someone wanting a better understanding of the full music creation process, this is a great place to start. The course is suitable for complete beginners.
For this music course you will be learning how to use Logic X, which is one of several industry standard digital audio workstation (DAW) software. You will learn through guided tasks, with one to one support from your tutor. Through industry examples you will build a strong foundation to help you realise your creative ideas. From production to mixing and recording techniques, you will gain a solid understanding of the full music production process.
What will be taught on Music Production Beginners course?
The course will cover a range of carefully selected material to ensure it is challenging, varied, and above all, enjoyable.
Course content will include:
- An introduction to music production and Logic X
- Learning how to programme MIDI drums
- Gaining knowledge of microphones and recording techniques
- Learning how to arrange and edit audio
- Gaining an insight into sampling and synthesis
- Learning about effects processing
- Developing an understanding of mixing and automation

Entry requirements and level of this course?
This course is suitable for complete beginners and those who possess a passion and curiosity to learn more about production.
How will I be taught?
Each week will begin with informal guided sessions on a key music production topic before students move on to one to one opportunities to practice their skills with plenty of free time to experiment.
By the end of the course, what will I have achieved?
Students will have:
- Gained a solid foundation and basic understanding of the key areas of music production.
- Developed an understanding of Logic X.
- Explored production skills including automation, mixing, synthesis and sampling.
- Grasped an understanding of microphones and recording audio.
- Demonstrated learnt technique within their own weekly projects .
