The course covers a wide range of techniques and styles to help you discover your own comedy voice along with exercises to boost confidence, creativity and imagination. You will gain skills on how to hold a room, deal with hecklers and structure your material.
This is a Showcase Course and you will receive feedback throughout the course to prepare you for your Showcase. The Showcase takes place at a Central London venue to an invited audience including friends and family of participants of this challenging course.
Stand Up Comedy Course Content
Exact course content may differ according to the course length and class size, but topics covered generally include:
- An understanding of how the industry works – gigs, bookings etc.
- Gain techniques to hold a room, address an audience and deal with interruptions/hecklers
- Techniques in the use of voice and microphone use
- Improvisations and exercises to create and structure new material
- Develop your own style and voice
- Directed and rehearsed with experienced tutor
- Showcase Performance at central London venue
- You will receive friendly feedback throughout the course.
Expect to take a few risks and take a few plunges. Remember that not everyone finds the same things funny, so don't take offence at anyone's material!
