Emily Smith

Emily Smith trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Prior to training she studied English at Bristol University.

Recent directing Credits include: As You Like It (RADA festival, Russell Square and T.S. Eliot’s “Burnt Norton”), The Sound Of Music (Matera, Italy), 250 Words (Theatre Uncut, Bristol Old Vic), The Fool (Bristol Old Vic Theatre School), Romeo and Juliet (Bristol Cathedral), Amadeus (Winston Theatre), The Wasteland (Lady Margaret Theatre), Two (Mandela Bar).

Recent acting Credits include: Rebecca (Kneehigh, UK tour), Bear Hunt (Sydney Opera House and world tour), Peter Pan, Wild Oats, Does My Society Look Big In This (Bristol Old Vic), Tea Time (Oxford Playhouse), Oh No It Isn’t (Belgrade Theatre), Ross and Rachel (Old Vic New Voices), Shakespearience (Glastonbury, Latitude, Edinburgh and West End).

Awards: The Bristol Old Vic Patron’s Prize (a six month acting placement at the Bristol Old Vic), The Princess Diana Award for Inspiring Young People (presented at the House of Commons), National Poetry Award (RSC Stratford), Best Bristol University Production (for directing Amadeus).

Emily is an exciting director and acting teacher with experience of working with aspiring actors through to seasoned professionals.
