Having trained at the prestigious London Contemporary Dance School, contemporary dance teacher Joanna has extensive dance experience spanning across Europe and America. In New York and Rome, she performed with Bill T Jones Company, Jose Limon Company, Rome National Opera and Everyday Dance Company within contemporary dance, physical theatre, opera, and musical theatre disciplines. Joanna has worked with top choreographers Aletta Collins (Carmen, Classical Productions), Roberta Garrison and Wendy Taucher.
After completing her Postgraduate for Dance in Community and Education at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, Joanna has taught contemporary dance, creative dance, choreography, musical theatre and ballet across the UK. Since then she has also completed an MA in Movement Teaching and Directing at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where she now works as a Movement Director and Choreographer.
“Everyone can dance, you just have to try” is Joanna’s motto which she applies to her inclusive classes where students are encouraged to overcome difficulties and find the dancer within. Joanna loves inspiring students to perform in class by sharing her experience of dance as a performance art within her teaching.
“I welcome beginners, always adapting dance material to suit everyone in the group; allowing more experienced dancers to extend their technique while those new to dance can learn the basics in a clear and structured way.”
