Judy Yorke

Judy Yorke is a journalist, editor, trainer and copywriter who loves anything and everything to do with words. She started young, publishing a school magazine at age 10 and achieving her first byline in The Guardian before leaving university.

Judy has three decades of experience as a journalist, with senior roles at Woman magazine and Good Housekeeping. Since going freelance, she has worked for numerous major titles including the Daily Mirror, Daily Express and BBC Good Food.

She also teaches journalism for an online course and is an editor and copywriter for businesses. In 2024 she published her first book, Crowded Platforms and Window Seats, about her family’s interrail adventure.

Judy passionately believes that journalistic writing skills – being concise, engaging and accurate – translate brilliantly into the world of business writing. They are relevant when writing everything from a short email to a detailed bid.

Over the last decade, she has worked with companies and individuals to improve their writing at work. Clients include the NHS, police, councils, PR companies, law firms, charities – and a zoo!
