Leigh Stanford Thompson

Leigh Stanford Thompson is a composer, conductor and arranger with over two decades’ experience working with choirs, orchestras and singers around the world.

A former member of the National Youth Choir of Wales, theatre credits include: Titanic (International Tour); Ghost (UK Tour); Young Frankenstein (Garrick Theatre); Spamalot (English Theatre, Frankfurt); Tell Me On A Sunday (UK tour); Bugle Boy (UK tour); I Love Paris and I Happen to Like New York (Orange Tree Theatre; also writer/director); and the 48-hour charity shows Singin’ in the Rain, Thoroughly Modern Millie (Adelphi), Crazy For You, Me And My Girl (Palladium) and The Boy Friend (Her Majesty’s) for Eyebrow Productions. Leigh is the composer for Ross Noble’s last three stand-up tours, El Hablador, Humournoid, and The Ross Noble Comeback Special, as well as for Ross Noble’s Britain in Bits for BBC Radio 4.

He works closely with the City Academy Voices Choir as Director, writing for them many arrangements and some original compositions. As a cabaret accompanist, Leigh has worked with Claire Sweeney, Karen Akers, Rosemary Ashe, Janie Dee, Peter Polycarpou, Tiffany Graves, Al Pillay, Klea Blackhurst, and Jeff Harnar, and was for three years the house pianist at The Crazy Coqs/Brasserie Zedél. He is also in demand as an audition and rehearsal pianist in the West End, working on shows such as Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Cabaret, Mary Poppins and The Lion King.
