Sara trained at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux for eight years, studying contemporary and classical dance along with acting and music.
She took her degree at the London Contemporary Dance School in 2016 before joining the post-graduate company EDge. She performed work by Kaeja, Shobana Jeyasingh, Patricia Okenwa and also Tony Adigun with whom she continues to work professionally, most recently on a duet for the National Gallery. She has worked as a deputy dancer for Protein and Clod Ensemble and now collaborates with Ruby Portus, with whom she has created and performed three pieces so far. She also works with Julian Nichols as a performer and associate on the development of his company Bodies In Action.
Since 2017 Sara has collaborated as a dancer and movement facilitator for the company of stroke survivors, Rosetta Life. She first joined them for a piece directed by Ben Duke and Orlando Gough. This work has led her to train in teaching methods and holistic movement practices. She qualified as a yoga teacher in 2020 and has since studied prenatal and postnatal Yoga. She has taught as a yoga teacher and dance teacher in fitness centers, schools, vocational training and professional training in the UK and France.
‘My classes are engaging and creative. I combine elements of floorwork and flying low to choreographic phrases. I focus on the performative and technical aspect of dance, guiding students to engage with set material or creative tasks from their own lived experience.’
