Thomas Sutton

Thomas Sutton is a professional dancer and teacher with a diverse background in ballet and contemporary. He trained at the prestigious Rambert School and attained extensive experience in physical and immersive theatre. His professional credits include Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Budapest Dance Theatre, Compagnia Zappalà Danza and Studio Wayne McGregor’s Peer Program.

Thomas teaches ballet, contemporary, musical theatre and physical theatre; offering a dynamic and varied approach to training. His contemporary classes draw from Cunningham, Graham, and Limón techniques, splicing exercises to challenge rhythm and coordination. He incorporates release and floor work to foster flow and expression, alongside improvisation tasks rooted in the MoDem language, developed during his time with Compagnia Zappalà Danza. In ballet, Thomas focuses on building technical precision, alignment, and healthy practices while also emphasising coordination, stretch, and fluidity through dynamic exercises.

Thomas creates an overarching energy of play and exploration, encouraging students to have fun and push past their comfort zones to discover new connections to movement. His teaching is underpinned by a somatic approach, priority autonomy and creative freedom in each body.

“I cultivate an open, supportive studio environment where nothing is too serious. I see all dance as an opportunity to be curious, express oneself, and grow in confidence.”
